Kaubisch Memorial Public Library

High-speed wireless access is available free of charge in all areas of the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library. Library patrons are invited to use their own wireless computing devices to access the library’s broadband connection.

Policies and Procedures

1. All wireless access users are required to comply with the library’s Internet Policy. Copies of the policy are posted on each floor. Individual copies of the Internet Policy are available at the Circulation Desk.
2. Accessing, loading or displaying obscene language and sexually explicit graphics and materials, as defined in sections 2907.01 and 2907.31 of the Ohio Revised Code, is prohibited.
3. Internet telephony and online gambling are prohibited.
4. Due to the potential mature nature of many websites, adults are prohibited from accessing the Internet in the Youth Services Department unless assisting a young patron with research.
5. Social networking sites are prohibited by wireless users of all ages in the Youth Services Department.
6. The library staff is not permitted to handle or configure patron computing devices. Device owners are responsible for setting up their own equipment and connecting to the wireless network.
7. Virus protection is the sole responsibility of the computing device users. The library is not responsible for any loss of data or damage to computing devices that might result from using the wireless network or other facilities at the library.

Notes

1. No wireless printing services are available.
2. Electrical outlets are available on Level 3 and Level 4 of the library. Please ask for assistance if needed.
3. Laptops and other devices should never be left unattended.
4. Mobile business users should utilize their corporate VPN (virtual private network) connection to protect data as it travels through the Internet.
5. Personal or financial information could potentially be intercepted when using any wireless access.
