Reading for pleasure helps teens to process complex emotional feelings and experiences and build their empathy and comprehension of the world around them. They are able to experience the world through other points of view and ideas which help them to better understand their own world but in a safe environment. Reading opens the door for life long learning, social empathy, and helps teens find stress relief in safe practices.
We are encouraging teens in 6th-12th grade to challenge themselves to read 100 books before they graduate High School.
